Instructions

Pre-Preparation

Ham yield is 82%

1. Thaw ham and slice into 1oz slices.
2. Slice block cheddar cheese into 1.25oz slices.
3. Soften butter. It can also be melted if preferred.
4. Line sheet pans with parchment.
5. Butter 24 slices of bread per sheet pan, 1 tsp per slice.
6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Preparation

1. Place 24 slices of bread butter side down on parchment.
2. Place 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese on top of each slice of bread.
3. Top each with remaining slices of bread.
4. Spread the rest of the softened or melted butter on the outside of top piece of bread.
5. Bake sandwiches uncovered in oven for about 8-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bread is toasted golden brown.
6. Slice sandwiches in half for service.

If preparing ahead or transporting out:
5. Cover with plastic wrap. Do not use bags. Label, date, and refrigerate until transport or service.
6. When ready for service, uncover sandwiches and follow cooking instructions from steps 5-6 above.
